Inside Sales Intern

Position Title: Inside Sales Intern                               

Department: Sales 

Shift: Day 

Work Location: On-site in Lake Mary, FL                                             

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

 

Position Summary: 

The Inside Sales Intern will support the day-to-day activities of the inside sales team, with a focus on lead development, CRM management, and sales operations. This role is intended to provide exposure to the processes and systems used in a business-to-business (B2B) SaaS sales environment, particularly within the education technology and online proctoring sectors. Working under the guidance of senior sales staff, the intern will assist in identifying prospective clients, tracking outreach activities, supporting client communication, and contributing to the analysis of sales performance data. The role also includes cross-functional collaboration with marketing and client management teams to support broader revenue growth initiatives. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

The essential duties of the position include the following, and other duties may be assigned: 

 

  • Sales Support & Lead Development: Assist with identifying potential client leads through online research, databases, and digital outreach. Support outbound email and call campaigns, helping initiate contact with educational institutions and corporate training providers. Help maintain and update the sales pipeline in our CRM system (HubSpot), ensuring data accuracy and timely follow-ups. 
  • Client Engagement & CRM Management: Assist in managing communication with prospective and existing clients under the supervision of the sales team. Track customer interactions and help prepare materials for client onboarding and relationship management. 
  • Sales Strategy & Analysis: Help analyze sales performance data and market trends to identify opportunities for optimization. Participate in weekly team meetings, contributing to discussions on sales targets, outreach strategies, and customer engagement. 
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with Marketing, Product, and Client Management teams to ensure alignment in messaging and outreach. Support preparation of sales decks, reports, and proposals for leadership and potential clients.

Education/Experience:  

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Prior internship or part-time experience in a sales, marketing, or customer-facing role is preferred but not required. Interest in SaaS, education technology, or B2B sales is required. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and take initiative on assigned tasks. 

 

Language Ability:  

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to draft professional emails and contribute to internal and client-facing communications. Comfortable presenting ideas clearly in meetings and written reports. 

 

Math Ability:  

Basic proficiency in analyzing numerical data and interpreting charts or reports. Comfortable working with metrics such as conversion rates, revenue projections, and pipeline stages.  

 

Reasoning Ability:  

Ability to think critically and apply logical steps when problem-solving. Capable of prioritizing tasks and adjusting to shifting deadlines or project needs. Willingness to ask questions and seek clarity when working through unfamiliar tasks. 

 

Computer Skills:  

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel/Sheets, Word/Docs, and PowerPoint/Slides. Experience using or willingness to learn CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot). Comfortable navigating online platforms and communication tools such as Microsoft Teams.
