Web Content Specialist

Job Summary

This position serves as the primary point of public contact for the organization’s public facing website(s) and employee information portal site(s). This position is expected to work closely with the Public Information Officer (PIO) and Information Technology (I.T.) department on all aspects related to content, technology, hosting, and services. The range of responsibilities for this position may include web design and development, routine site and content maintenance, regular reviews, and corrections related to compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), as well as various updates to ensure sites align with the goals and objectives of the company.

  • Hybrid Telework can be discussed and will be in accordance with County & Department policies. Regular in-person work is required through 6-month probationary period.

  • Annual salary range of:
    • $53,681.06 - $72,690.00
    • This position guarantees two salary raises within your first year as long as your performance is in good standing!

Minimum Qualifications
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position: 

 

  • Associate's degree or two-year technical degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Project Management or closely related field, and;
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, Project Management, or closely related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.

Special Requirements

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Content Management: Experience in managing website content, including creating and editing pages, uploading multimedia content, and maintaining a consistent style and tone. 
  • Web Analytics: Familiarity with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to track website performance, analyze user behavior, and make data-driven improvements.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues, perform website maintenance tasks, and troubleshoot compatibility problems across different browsers and devices. 
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, meet deadlines, and coordinate with team members or clients. 
  • Copywriting and Editing: Strong writing and editing skills to create compelling and error-free web content, blog posts, and promotional materials.
  • Strategic Communications: Familiarity with strategic communications principles and practices, including messaging, branding, and audience targeting. 
  •  Marketing and Social Media: Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, social media platforms, and the ability to integrate marketing campaigns with website development. 
  • Branding and Visual Identity: Understanding of branding concepts and the ability to translate brand guidelines into consistent visual elements across the website.
