Dock House Coordinator

Portland Schooner Co. invites applications for a seasonal Dock House Coordinator (May to October) to help support our public sail, special event, and charter business. Applicants must be able to engage with guests in a friendly, helpful manner and confidently explain and educate potential customers and charter guests about our boats and sailing options. In addition to responsibilities associated with checking in guests for public sails and private charters, the position entails interacting in a professional manner with clients in person, on the phone, and via email as well as assisting with retail for dock houses and local store space to ensure inventory is sufficient and all locations are fully stocked. The position also entails helping with marketing support, including implementing signage, updating company copy, submitting events and information for posting, and assisting with capturing content for social media posts and feeding them to the team lead.

A successful candidate will have exceptional attention to detail and oral communication skills and phone demeanor. Candidates must also be punctual and reliable, bring a positive attitude, and possess the ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects in a timely fashion. Applicants should be able to engage with people and offer helpful information about our sailing experiences in a friendly way while processing a high volume of customers. Organization and accuracy are a must along with the ability to work alone and with a team, following direction but also taking initiative as needed. Prior sales, retail, event planning, restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or administrative experience is helpful.

The position is seasonal from May through October. Pay is commensurate with experience.
