Case Assistant

BRG

BRG is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Case Assistant to provide administrative support to Experts and consulting staff in our Salt Lake City office. This hands-on role will contribute directly to client deliverables and assist with various administrative tasks. 

 Job Responsibilities: 

  • Support fee applications and billing, including maintaining case files, tracking fees, expenses, and payments across multiple cases,
  • Organize and proofread time records, prepare draft legal filings, finalize invoices, and correspond with legal professionals.
  • Assist with document management, data analysis, and report preparation.
  • Conduct quality control reviews, including editing documents, sourcing footnotes and verifying references.
  • Review and organize case documents and data for accuracy and accessibility.
  • Help prepare receipts and disbursements databases, comparative financial analyses, and financial schedules related to bankruptcy and litigation matters.
  • Research case-related information, primarily supporting bankruptcy-related matters.
  • Perform data analysis and comparisons to identify trends or anomalies.
  • Ensure client reports meet the highest quality standards through diligent review and support.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in business, accounting, or paralegal training required.
  • Experience: Background as a paralegal, researcher or in accounting highly desired.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word (including footnoting, table of contents), Excel (pivot tables, v/x-lookup), Access, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including editing and quality control, and document review experience.
  • Work Style: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure and meet required deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to occasionally work overtime as needed.
  • On-Site Requirement: Must be able to work on-site for a minimum of four days a week.
