Are you a full-time student working towards your bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other related field of study?

Do you need credits for an internship/practicum to graduate? Or would you just like to get some experience in your field of study?

As you learn and gain experience, would you like to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families?

Somerset County Children and Youth Services is looking for enthusiastic, compassionate, and meticulous Caseworker Intern to join our growing team!

We have an in-person opening at our office location in Somerset, Pennsylvania for a Caseworker Intern. You can work in-person part-time while attending your classes or on your summer break.

As a Caseworker Intern, you will help play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals and families in need. You will learn to:

• Assess clients' needs, develop care plans, and connect them with appropriate resources and services to improve their well-being.
• Conduct assessments to identify clients' needs and develop individualized care plans
• Help provide crisis intervention and support to clients facing challenging situations
• Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care
• Advocate for clients' rights and access to services
• Learn how to monitor and evaluate clients' progress towards their goals
• Learn how to maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes and documentation

What is required to be a Caseworker Intern?

• Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student with at least a junior standing in an accredited undergraduate bachelor’s degree program in social work, sociology, social welfare, psychology, or other related social sciences
• Completion of the first semester of the junior year (75 credits); and satisfactory completion of fifteen (15) credits in one of the major fields of study
