Somerset County Children and Youth Services is looking for enthusiastic, compassionate, and meticulous Caseworker Intern to join our growing team!
We have an in-person opening at our office location in Somerset, Pennsylvania for a Caseworker Intern. You can work in-person part-time while attending your classes or on your summer break.
As a Caseworker Intern, you will help play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals and families in need. You will learn to:
- Assess clients' needs, develop care plans, and connect them with appropriate resources and services to improve their well-being.
- Conduct assessments to identify clients' needs and develop individualized care plans
- Help provide crisis intervention and support to clients facing challenging situations
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as social workers and healthcare providers, to ensure comprehensive care
- Advocate for clients' rights and access to services
- Learn how to monitor and evaluate clients' progress towards their goals
- Learn how to maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes and documentation
What is required to be a Caseworker Intern?
- Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student with at least a junior standing in an accredited undergraduate bachelor’s degree program in social work, sociology, social welfare, psychology, or other related social sciences
- Completion of the first semester of the junior year (75 credits); and satisfactory completion of fifteen (15) credits in one of the major fields of study
