Quality Assurance QC Internship Opportunity – Schiff Food Products
We are currently seeking a new Quality Assurance Intern to join our team at Schiff Food Products Co., Inc. This internship is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in food safety, quality control, and production support in a GFSI-certified spice processing facility.

Internship Opportunity – Quality Assurance Intern
Location: Schiff Food Products Co., Inc. – 994 Riverview Drive, Totowa, NJ
Schedule: Part-time or full-time (flexible for class schedules)
Compensation: $20–$25/hour, depending on experience (DOE)
Duration: Open-ended with potential for extension or permanent position
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented intern to support our Quality Assurance (QA) team. This internship is a great opportunity to build experience in food safety, regulatory documentation, and production QA systems.
The intern will be exposed to lab-based quality activities and production floor checks and will work under the supervision of our QA and Compliance leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with documentation filing and data entry of released lots
- Support material sampling, including new and incoming loads, WIP and finished products.
- Participate in visual inspections (macroscopic and microscopic)
- Conduct production line pre-op and startup checks
- Support verification of metal detectors, magnets, and sanitation systems
- Assist with internal audits and complaint investigations
- Help monitor GMP compliance on the production floor
- Inventories for QA & Sanitation supplies.
- Post operation sanitation verification
- Learn and apply FSMA-based preventive control and preventative measures practices
Requirements:
- Current student or recent graduate in Food Science, Biology, Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field
- Detail-oriented and organized; strong documentation and communication skills
- Comfortable working in both lab and food production environments
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
