Summer Communications and Fundraising Associate

JDBF is seeking a Communications and Fundraising Associate intern to work in a remote position.
Job Description:
The Communications and Fundraising Associate is tasked with handling the foundation's external relationships and generating new partnership opportunities. This role is significant to the foundations growth and requires an intern with strong writing abilities and the confidence to liaise and leverage JDBFs connections for various opportunities.
Position Responsibilities:
- Meet and speak on behalf of foundation with our constituents and partners
- Manage communication with foundation alumni (past scholarship winners, grant winners etc. )
- Create/Build strategic relationships with new school systems & students
- Research people/organizations for foundation programming and potential partnerships
- Assist with development of new fundraising plans and programming
- Assist with donor relations (may include sending solicitation letters, sending thank-you letters, ensuring that donors are notified about how their donations are being used, etc.)
- Strategize new avenues for fundraising that are aligned with the foundation mission
- Assisting with carrying out logistics for foundation events (sending invites, gathering participant information, etc.)
Minimum Requirements:
Must be enrolled in a degree-granting program in any field of study.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience using Canva, AdobeShop or Wordpress
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Sales or client service experience
- Passion, drive, and ambition to fulfill to fulfill the mission of the organization and help the people we serve
- Proactive thinker
- Ability to work Independently
- Self-starter
Additional Information:
- This role is 90% Remote, with mandatory team meetings and sessions ( via virtual calls)
- This role does not require sponsorship or a visa
- This roles is open to any and all college-aged students (Students in the State of Connecticut are given priority)
- Interns are paid by a Grant structure per semester
- This position requires a minimum of 10-15 hours per week
- All interns earn an automatic 10% commission on any dollars that are a result of their fundraising/networking
