Business Development & Marketing Assistant

Description: 

This role is essential for driving the company's revenue and profitability. The Business Development & Marketing Manager supports and executes lead generation strategies, client outreach and marketing initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and CRM tools. Key responsibilities include implementing business development and marketing strategies, creating systems to fulfill those strategies, driving revenue targets, holding staff accountable and adapting as needed to meet goals.

Additionally, daily tasks will include providing administrative support by managing emails, scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, tracking results and efficiently handling follow-up calls.

Business Development: 

  • Managing the pipeline of opportunities from current and prospective customers to ensure that sales goals can be met. Expectation is a minimum of 15 weekly calls with leadership and structured monthly touchpoints with prospects 
  • Driving lead generation by prospecting potential clients to identify and qualify new customers and utilize referral channels to generate appointments and establish relationships, managing leads and follow up in Hubspot for account planning
  • Coordinating outreach, managing the CRM database (Hubspot), keeping hot leads top of mind, managing incoming requests, scheduling calls, organizing business development activities, developing weekly reports, forecasting sales
  • Build and foster relationships with associations and organizations to build networks, identify opportunities for speaking engagements and events, which will assist in driving business; scheduling these events and following up on leads that come from these events
  • Maintain all business development and marketing resources and databases so that they are kept up to date and accurate. These may include Hubspot, Gong, webinars & presentations, the Growth & Innovation Assessment, proposals templates and any other business development or marketing designated resources and systems
  • Complete all business development and marketing documentation promptly, thoroughly and accurately, to ensure company profitability and maximize our ability to deliver high-quality solutions, meeting monthly, quarterly and annual business development outcome-based metrics, devising plans to course correct when necessary to meet company goals
  • Managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating travel arrangements, prioritizing requests, understanding priorities and making judgments on how best to support the leadership team
  • Provide sophisticated calendar management for Business Development team. Prioritize inquiries and requests while troubleshooting conflicts; make judgements and recommendations to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements
  • Create a national picture of contacts and companies to ensure proper BD specific trips and maximize existing travel for Business Development opportunities 
  • Develop a system for capturing the organization structure of companies we work with or are prospecting, the history for past projects by client and create new outreach plans for selling into new projects 
  • Evaluate ROI for webinars, events, conferences and trade shows attended or hosted by NewEdge staff 

Marketing:

  • Build and foster relationships through social media, especially LinkedIn, forming connections with existing and new clients using targeted communications to secure meetings with top-level executives, maintaining a well-kept log of all communications with all leads for the sales team
  • Oversee all social media efforts and work with the team to create monthly content such as a monthly newsletter, video content, trends, events and insights
  • Keep up-to-date on current trends on social media and public relations in the realm of our business
  • Manage all publishing and related vendors for books, articles and PR; ensuring error-free publications
  • Responsible for developing and executing digital marketing strategies across web platforms to increase brand visibility, drive traffic, and generate qualified leads

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field
  • Interested in project management, operations management, business development and/or executive assistant experience within the relevant industry
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail
  • High degree of professionalism in dealing with diverse groups of people, including clients who are often senior executives, partners and staff
  • Make appropriate, informed decisions regarding priorities and available time
  • Ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little or no guidance
  • Ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround
  • Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales management tools (Preferably HubSpot)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Social Media web platforms
  • Familiarity with AI tools to drive sales (Gong, etc.)
