Administrative Assistant

For more than 60 years, Tyndale has helped readers discover the life-giving truths of God’s Word. Today we’re one of the largest independently owned Christian publishers in the world. Though our business has grown, our mission remains the same: to open God’s Word to as many as possible in language they can relate to and understand.

Tyndale Publishing Group is looking for an in-office, full-time Administrative Assistant to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide vital administrative and operational support to our Bibles, Spanish, and Kids publishing acquisitions teams, as well as to the Bible Publisher and Sr. Operations Manager—helping our teams work smoothly, stay connected, and make a lasting impact through our publishing efforts.

The Admin Assistant is a welcoming, responsive, and service-minded team member who plays a key role in supporting the publishing success of the Bibles, Spanish Books, and Kids teams. Working closely with the Sr. Operations Manager and Administrative Coordinator, the Admin Assistant helps create a smooth-running, productive, and enjoyable work environment by delivering excellent, accurate, and timely support. This role thrives on building positive relationships, staying organized in a busy environment, and helping others succeed. The ideal candidate will balance day-to-day tasks, project support, and incoming requests with a calm, flexible, and solution-focused attitude. With a heart for service, the Admin Assistant will ask thoughtful questions, seek clarity when needed, and partner with colleagues to find the best ways to meet the needs of the publishing teams and leadership.

What You'll Do

Create a welcoming and organized environment by acting as the primary receptionist and gatekeeper for the group area, proactively greeting guests, answering questions, maintaining tidy department spaces, and organizing refreshments for meetings.

Enhance team efficiency by scheduling meetings, managing shared calendars, maintaining up-to-date departmental employee records, coordinating timely routing of cards and special recognitions, distributing product copies and mail, and communicating industry and company news and information to the teams.

Support team’s product development, author relationships, and promotional efforts by placing and tracking internal product orders, answering follow-up inquiries, and ensuring timely delivery for both internal and external recipients.

Ensure publishing teams are equipped with accurate and accessible tools and resources by producing reports, organizing product and sales data, and assisting with on-line industry research.

Support clear and accurate communication to both internal and external stakeholders by assisting with the preparation of reports and presentation materials, including PowerPoint, printing, comb-binding, and scanning projects.

Skills and Qualifications Needed

We are looking for a friendly, helpful, organized, self-motivated, resourceful problem-solver, with a desire to contribute to the ministry of our publishing efforts through service and supporting others so that the entire team can be productive, efficient, and effective, enabling us all to thrive and be fulfilled in our work.

A college degree is preferred but not required — willingness and ability to learn is just as important.

Some office or administrative experience is helpful, though we’re open to a variety of experiences and work backgrounds.

Experience in publishing is a plus, as is a familiarity with Spanish, but neither is essential. Information and processes can be taught if you appreciate and value them.

Confidence using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is important; must also be comfortable learning and adapting to a variety of new software and internal programs.

Personal alignment with the bible as God’s Word, and agreement with our Statement of Faith.

This job provides flexible daily start/stop times, and the potential to work from home 1 day/week after a successful training and onboarding period.
