Economic Development Coordinator
WE ARE HIRING! Join our team and become our new full-time Economic Development Coordinator, focusing on attracting new businesses and development, retention and growth of existing businesses including redevelopment, revitalization, proposing creative solutions to development challenges and engaging local businesses.
Some info about the position…
- Proactively focuses on outreach and attracting business development and real estate investment including economic development projects, business attraction and expansion, redevelopment, revitalization, and reuse of vacant structures; develops marketing programs, materials, graphics, and content.
- Conducts needs assessments, documenting and analyzing findings, developing and providing thoughtful analysis and effective follow-up.
- Provides regular economic development updates to the Village Board, as well as recommendations for incentive programs and grant opportunities.
- Manages programs such as economic development marketing events, grand openings, and brokers’ tours.
- Assists with business retention and expansion strategies; assists businesses with business plan development.
- Assists in the development and administration of financial incentive programs.
- Analyzes economic data and prepares long-term business and financial forecasts and insights in coordination with the Director and the Village Planner.
Qualified candidates should…
- Have a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, urban planning, or public administration.
- Have at least four years of relevant experience with an ability to demonstrate success in economic development or similar field.
- Have thorough knowledge of TIF districts, joint review board, economic development zoning and urban planning, real estate, and political aspects of development projects.
- Have strong leadership abilities with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to leverage an optimistic and professional attitude; work collaboratively, build strong working relationships, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Be familiar with commercial and industrial real estate.
- Preferably have experience in marketing and social media along with graphic design.
- Be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, marketing, and other job-related applications.
- Have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive a vehicle.

- Salary range is $89,856 - $125,799 (hiring salary is typically no higher than midpoint, based on qualifications)
