Curriculum & Community Engagement Internship

About Age Brilliantly
Age Brilliantly is an interactive community focused on helping people lead fulfilling 100-year lives. Our platform provides valuable resources, inspiration, and tools for individuals at all life stages, emphasizing health, finance, relationships, careers, passion, purpose, continuous learning, and time mastery. As we expand, we are building out an academy that will feature a variety of live and online courses designed to help users live more fulfilling lives. These courses will incorporate journaling, exercises, and community forums for accountability, brainstorming, and support. We are looking for a creative and driven Curriculum & Community Engagement Intern to help us design and build this impactful learning experience.

We are part of the Mentoring Internships group, which has served 650+ interns (the last time we counted, before the pandemic). We take interns year-round with the goal of helping individuals of all ages gain experience to make better career decisions. Interns are required to commit to a minimum of 15-20 hours during the spring and fall semesters and 32-40 hours during the summer semester.

Role Overview
As the Curriculum & Community Engagement Intern, you will assist in creating engaging, interactive online courses for Age Brilliantly’s Academy. You will help design course structures, develop exercises, create journaling prompts, and integrate community forums to enhance user engagement. This internship offers hands-on experience in course creation, community engagement, and educational design within a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Course Design & Structure: Assist in creating the framework for online courses, developing course modules, exercises, journaling prompts, and activities that engage users.
  • Community Engagement: Help design and integrate community forums for accountability, brainstorming, and support, encouraging active participation among course members.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with the team to develop engaging and interactive course materials, ensuring they align with Age Brilliantly’s mission and community-building goals.
  • Research & Development: Assist in researching best practices for course delivery and community engagement to ensure high-quality user experiences.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Age Brilliantly team to ensure that course designs meet the needs of the community and fit within the overall business strategy.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in designing online courses or educational content.
  • Strong interest in personal development, community engagement, and course creation.
  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to create engaging and clear content.
  • Experience in community engagement and building active, supportive online groups.
  • Familiarity with course platforms or learning management systems (LMS) is a plus.
  • Creative mindset with a focus on making learning interactive and fun.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Preferred (and if you don’t have one, you will be required to submit a sample of your work):

  • A portfolio or examples of courses you’ve helped design, including specific roles you played in the process.
  • Experience in creating courses that include activities such as journaling, exercises, and community interactions.
  • Interest in content creation related to financial planning, personal development, and intergenerational communities.
