Inventory Control Specialist

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Inventory Control Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory levels, conducting audits, and ensuring that materials and products are properly tracked throughout the supply chain. The ideal candidate will have experience with inventory management systems, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to replenish stock as needed.
  • Investigate inventory issues such as overages, shortages, and misplacements.
  • Input, update, and manage data in inventory management software.
  • Generate inventory reports for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding inventory control.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., shipping, receiving, production) to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  •  
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Forklift certification.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing or just-in-time inventory principles.
