The Asia Group (TAG) is now accepting applications for an Events & Conventions Manager to join our New Delhi, India office with an expected start date in early July 2025.

Position Overview

The Events & Conventions Manager will play a pivotal role in TAG India's operations, overseeing the end-to-end execution of events ranging from intimate office roundtables to major multi-day conferences across India and internationally. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to manage a team while working closely with consulting staff to deliver high-impact client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Strategy & Management: Develop and execute comprehensive event plans for gatherings of all sizes; oversee venue selection, budget management, and vendor negotiations while maintaining TAG's premium standards
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Build relationships with vendors, venues, and service providers across the region; coordinate effectively with government officials, corporate executives, and diplomatic personnel; manage a team of junior staff to ensure flawless execution
  • Logistics & Operations: Create detailed event execution plans with timelines and contingency protocols; manage registration, participant communications, and international delegate requirements; coordinate speaker and VIP travel logistics
  • Content Development: Collaborate with consulting teams to align event programming with strategic objectives; coordinate production of event materials; implement digital solutions for event enhancement, including hybrid participation options
  • Post-Event Management: Oversee reporting, budget reconciliation, and outcomes assessment; maintain stakeholder relationships; conduct team debriefs to continuously improve execution
  • May be assigned other special projects or duties according to business needs.

Job Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional event management experience
  • Proven leadership experience and exceptional organizational skills
  • Outstanding communication abilities in English; Hindi proficiency advantageous
  • Experience managing event budgets and vendor negotiations
  • Proficiency with event management software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
  • Willingness to travel (25%) and work extended hours during event periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent academic/practical experience related to event management, hospitality, Asia, communications, and/or business.
  • International event management experience across other Asian markets
  • Experience coordinating government, diplomatic, or high-level business events
  • Knowledge of protocol considerations for senior officials
  • Experience with digital/hybrid event formats
  • Professional certification in event management
