Summary
An employee in this classification, under supervision of the Superintendent or designee, will leads efforts to foster a workplace environment that is varied in perspectives, values fairness, and promotes a sense of belonging, contributing to a positive organizational culture, and working to extend this culture into the community we serve.
Duties
- Manage the development, implementation, and monitoring Strategic Plan initiatives aimed at enhancing representation, fairness, and belonging across the organization.
- Research, develop, recommend, and execute creative strategies to meet applicable Strategic Plan goals.
- Create, assist, and administer programs and initiatives designed to boost efforts in cultivating a workplace where all voices are heard and valued.
- Serve as the lead for the task force established to address organizational culture and inclusion.
- Establish metrics and benchmarks to measure the progress of efforts towards achieving a fair and welcoming work environment.
- Review current practices and policies to ensure they support an environment of equal opportunity and respect for varied opinions.
- Collect and analyze statistical data to evaluate workforce representation and compliance with related standards and goals. Create outreach strategies to enhance the pipeline of talent emphasizing the value of varied experiences and perspectives.
- Partner with HR staff and other departments to develop fair recruitment, selection, hiring, onboarding, training, promotions, compensation practices, and retention.
- Build relationships with professional groups, educational institutions, and community organizations for the talent recruitment process in order to ensure applicants have varied experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives.
- Represent organization at events that will help Lucas DD achieve its mission, vision, values, and strategic plan goals as they relate to this position. Partner with appropriate industry councils, work groups, and community partners.
- Act as consultant to HR/Management on investigations related to discrimination.
- Oversee compliance with Non-Discrimination and Harassment Policy, and other applicable federal policies/regulations. May need to partner and work with ADA Coordinator.
- Maintain awareness of regulations relating to non-discrimination, and diversity related issues, legislation and best practices. Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, laws, policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Partner with legal department and ADA Coordinator as needed and/or required.
- Provide training on culture related topics
- Position may be required to complete special projects as needed, conduct job audits, serve or chair various committees, or perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Services or closely related field. Masters preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience in fostering a workplace culture that values fairness and belonging.
- Valid Driver's license with acceptable driving record
