Experienced Sous Chef

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support the Lodge Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations. This role involves assisting in menu planning, overseeing food preparation, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest culinary standards. The Sous Chef will act as the kitchen leader in the absence of the Lodge Chef and play a key role in maintaining financial goals, health and safety regulations, and an outstanding dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lodge Chef in menu development and daily food preparation.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring consistency and quality in food execution.
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
  • Monitor inventory and food costs, contributing to financial efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Lodge Chef to create seasonally inspired dishes using fresh, local ingredients.
  • Lead kitchen operations when the Lodge Chef is unavailable.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role.
  • Culinary degree or relevant experience in fine dining or farm-to-table cuisine preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Passion for high-quality ingredients and creative culinary techniques.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
