Development & Fundraising Intern

Reports to: Director of Operations

Location: Hybrid / New Orleans-based preferred

Timeframe: Fall 2025 – Spring 2026 (August 2025 – May 2026)

Compensation: Unpaid, but eligible for college credit

About the Role:

Do you believe a single pair of socks—or a single story—can spark real change? Bonfolk Giving Good is seeking a passionate, detail-loving intern to join our fundraising and development team for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on nonprofit experience where every email, spreadsheet, and brainstorm helps bring warmth and dignity to people in need.

As our Development & Fundraising Intern, you’ll help us connect the dots between our mission and our donors—researching potential partners, crafting compelling donor communications, and supporting the creative rollout of fundraising campaigns. Think of yourself as part data detective, part storyteller, and part community cheerleader.

What You’ll Do:

• Research grant opportunities, donor leads, and community sponsors

• Assist with donor outreach and thank-you communications

• Support logistics for events and fundraisers (virtually and in person)

• Help develop content for email campaigns and social media appeals

• Track and report on fundraising performance using our internal systems

• Collaborate with our programs and marketing teams

What We’re Looking For:

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Relations, Business, or a related field

• Strong writing, research, and organizational skills

• Comfortable juggling a few creative projects at once

• Passionate about social impact, community work, and showing up for people

• Bonus points for experience with Canva, ClickUp, or fundraising platforms

Details:

• This is an unpaid internship, but we’re happy to work with your school to ensure you receive college credit

• We require a commitment for both Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters

• Flexible schedule (minimum of 20 hours per week)

Perks:

• Real-world experience that looks great on a resume

• A team that values your voice and ideas

• Opportunities to connect with local nonprofits and changemakers

• A behind-the-scenes look at how good gets done
