Business and Product Development Intern

Position: Business and Product Development Intern

Reporting To: Senior Director, Business Development

 

Position Objective

Nitto BioPharma, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of novel RNA-based therapeutics for intractable diseases. The Business and Product Development Intern (B&PD) position is a unique opportunity that involves both laboratory bench research and business development product research. The employee holding the B&PD Intern position will conduct laboratory studies and R&D formulation and analytical work while driving the creation and development of marketing research efforts and new business tools in support of a pilot ‘lipid mix’ kit for Nitto’s DDS platform development and external licensing activities.

 

Major Job Functions

· Conduct laboratory research assisting in nanoparticle formulation activities and laboratory batch processes, including buffer preparation and LNP characterization.

· Collect and analyze laboratory data and summarize outcomes for research reports related to pilot lipid mixture kit product creation.

· Participate in project and portfolio management activities essential to internal programs while building productive cross-functional collaborative relationships.

· Assist with the development of business and portfolio/project infrastructure tools and processes to maximize BD Team effectiveness and activities.

· Conduct competitive intelligence and due diligence benchmarking research and 3C analysis to support business development initiatives and strategic planning.

· Assist and support key organizational, business and operational activities for potential collaborative communication and business outreach (e.g. LinkedIn page curation, website postings, marketing materials, etc.).

· Participate and support as needed organizational planning and tracking of project and portfolio activities together with the Project Management Team (e.g. agendas, tracking action items).

 

Education, Licensure and/or Experience

· Working on a degree in business, with interests in STEM fields such discovery biology, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Knowledge of computer software and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint, etc.).

· Ability to work well in collaborative fast-paced team environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

· Familiarity with general laboratory practices and basic bench research.

· Familiarity with general business models and project management a plus.

 

Physical Job Requirements:

Office/Lab environment. Lifting to 30 pounds may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone keypad or to write, as well as talk and hear. They are required to stand, walk or sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus. Certain activities will require observing laboratory processes where personal protective equipment (PPE; lab coat, safety glasses, gloves) will be worn.
