About ALLMemphis

ALLMemphis (Access Language & Literacy) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring every child in Memphis becomes a confident reader. We train and support educators in evidence-based literacy instruction rooted in the science of reading.

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated summer intern—preferably majoring in Communications, English, or Education—to support a high-impact project: the development of standardized training scripts for our expert literacy trainers. This project will directly enhance the quality and consistency of our professional development offerings for educators.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our team to review and synthesize educational content, transcripts, and training materials.
  • Draft clear, engaging, and standardized scripts that align with our instructional goals.
  • Apply strong writing and editing skills to reflect the voice of expert trainers.
  • Participate in team discussions to refine content for clarity, consistency, and educational fidelity.

Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate student (junior or senior preferred) or recent graduate in Communications, English, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong written communication skills, with particular attention to tone, clarity, and formatting.
  • Demonstrated interest in education, literacy, or nonprofit work.
  • Ability to work independently, accept feedback, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with structured writing projects, theater scripts, educational media, or similar is a plus.

We are especially interested in learning about each candidate’s academic background and extracurricular interests or accomplishments. Whether you’ve led a campus publication, produced a podcast, tutored peers, or written plays—we want to hear about it!

Compensation and Logistics

  • Hourly Rate: $20/hour
  • Location: In-person at our Memphis office
  • Schedule: Part-time or full-time options available (we will accommodate your summer schedule)
