Digital Marketing & Graphic Design Intern

Position Summary: We’re seeking a creative, technically skilled Digital Marketing & Graphic Design Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about combining graphic design, marketing, and web development—especially within a highly regulated, startup healthcare environment. You’ll gain experience with WordPress by building and maintaining branded visual assets, and you’ll learn how to work within the constraints of medical device compliance and regulatory requirements. Avisi’s flagship product VisiPlate is an investigational device, and not yet available for sale, so most objectives will focus around brand and indication awareness and not marketing VisiPlate.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with digital marketing efforts including SEO optimization, basic analytics tracking, and landing page A/B testing
  • Assist with the messaging and images for presentations, newsletters, social posts
  • Work with the manager to brainstorm new marketing campaigns
  • Analyze and review social media metrics for various social media campaigns
  • Assist manager in supporting the social media plan, which includes digital, graphic design, and content creation
  • Project management and end-to-end management of internal approval processes
  • Monitor and analyze marketing metrics and data to evaluate campaigns' effectiveness and make optimization recommendations
  • Monitor website analytics and suggest actionable improvements to boost engagement and performance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, regulatory, R&D, and operations to ensure designs meet compliance standards
  • Participate in team research presentations
  • Perform other social media and graphic design activities as assigned by the team

 

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or master’s degree program in Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science or similar education
  • Results-driven with strong project management skills and able to multi-task
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools is a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of SEO, web performance best practices, and digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console)
  • Interest in the healthcare industry and MedTech marketing
  • Previous internship or work experience in marketing or healthcare is preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative, fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related internship or work experience

  • How to analyze and interpret social media analytics
  • Different social media & marketing tool tactics
  • Various graphic design software uses and techniques

 

Preferred Knowledge and Skills: 

  • Experience with web accessibility (WCAG) and mobile-responsive design
  • Coursework in Marketing, Journalism, Graphic Design, Communication or Media science
  • Familiarity with social media platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, and others
  • Ability to create visually appealing graphics, illustrations, and layouts
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Understanding of design principles such as color theory, typography, and composition
  • Knowledge of image optimization techniques for web and social media
  • Prior internship or experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated industries

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • The person in this position may need to move throughout the office to attend meetings
  • Continuously operates a computer and occasionally uses other office machinery
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in oral and written form so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
  • The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)

 

Location: 

Onsite: Redwood City, California 

Hybrid: Monday to Wednesday (Office), Thursday (Home)

Remote: Monday to Friday (if more than 2 hour drive away)

 

Duration:

3-6 months

 

Hours:

15 to 20 hours per week

 

Pay Range:

$18-$22 per hour (based on experience)
