Paid Marketing Internship

PAID MARKETING INTERNSHIP: Community and Leisure Services Office 

Compensation: $15.00 per hour 

Hours: Up to 15 hours per week

 

POSITION SUMMARY

This is an exciting marketing internship within the Community and Leisure Services Office, offering hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing and promotion. You will contribute to the development and execution of marketing strategies to promote community events, programs, and services. 

 

Responsibilities include:

Assisting with the creation of marketing materials, including flyers, social media posts, and website content.

Posting and maintaining engaging content on various social media platforms.

Updating and ensuring the accuracy of information on the department's website.

Providing support in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns for special events and programs.

Assisting with the development and distribution of promotional materials to area sponsors and businesses.

Potentially assisting with on-site marketing efforts at some events.

Performing general administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and organizing marketing materials.

Completing other marketing-related duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager, Programs and Events Manager, and Programs and Events Coordinator.

This internship provides an opportunity to develop independent judgment and creative thinking in contributing to marketing objectives and understanding public engagement.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is primarily an office setting, with occasional requirements for outdoor activities related to event support or material distribution. Physical demands may include sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, or crouching. The ability to frequently lift light objects and occasionally lift heavier items may be required. The intern must also be able to climb ladders and demonstrate manual dexterity when handling promotional materials. Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary, as assisting with some events could involve evening, weekend, and holiday hours. The work environment can be fast-paced and requires adaptability. Potential exposure to cold, heat, inclement weather, dirt, dust, and noise may occur during outdoor tasks.

This position involves regular interaction with co-workers within the CLS Division, other county departments, community organizations, civic clubs, part-time and volunteer staff, and the general public.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Interest or experience in marketing, public relations, and/or events is preferred. Previous office experience or clerical work is desired. Candidates must possess or have the ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license.
