ob Functions: This position is responsible for performing Planning and Procurement related duties and works closely with the Operations team in supporting the execution of department and company objectives. The Supply Chain Intern job functions are the purchase of tools, parts, supplies, or services and planning and scheduling of work necessary for manufacturing operations and supporting departments. 

Accountabilities:

  • Manage work orders, work closely with Production team.
  • Manage open sales orders and communicate with Customer Service team.
  • Maintain and see through the entire life cycle from Procure to Pay.
  • Follow up on Past Due Orders with Suppliers

Other Job Duties:

  • Release and close work orders. Assists Planning and Production team with workflow, planning and scheduling.
  • Updates routes, verifies BOM entry, processes ECOs (Engineering Change Orders), RMAs (Returns), Subcons (Subcontractor work) in ERP system.
  • Manage open sales orders, updates ERP dates, informs Customer Service team, communicates part shortages to Purchasing team.
  • Tracks related data and creates reports and dashboards.
  • Creates ISO documents and work instructions.
  • Prepares purchase orders, solicits quote proposals, and reviews requisitions for goods and services.
  • Monitors shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and resolves problems related to undelivered goods.
  • Maintains and reviews computerized, or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance and inventories for supplier evaluations.
  • Confers with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
  • Follow up with past due purchase orders and update ERP System to reflect updates.
  • Develops business relationships with customers and suppliers internal and external to the business.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, JIT, Six Sigma a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work through and resolve problems and/or conflicts recommending solutions and following through to completion.
  • Experience in maintaining data in information systems or databases is a plus
  • Experience in processing Purchase Orders/Purchase Requisitions in an ERP system is a plus

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled in University or Community College degree program, preferably Business or Operations. Prefer minimum of six months related experience or equivalent combination of skills, training or experience.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Ability to understand ERP systems

Language Skills:

Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
