Communications Associate
Mountain States Legal Foundation (MSLF) is seeking a dynamic Communications Associate to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a talented communicator who is passionate about media relations, content creation, and public relations strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, influencers, and media professionals.
Press Releases & Pitches: Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and compelling pitches to effectively communicate our mission and legal work.
Event Coordination: Assist in planning and executing press conferences and other public relations events.
Monitoring & Reporting: Track media coverage and prepare comprehensive reports. Analyze PR campaign effectiveness and provide data-driven recommendations.
Content Creation: Develop engaging content for blogs, social media, newsletters, and other digital platforms.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, clients, and external vendors to ensure cohesive messaging and strategy alignment.
Brand Management: Support efforts to maintain and enhance the public image of MSLF.
Marketing & Writing Support: Assist the Marketing Manager in various projects and support the Director of Communications with writing assignments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field (preferred).
1-3 years of experience in media relations, public relations, or communications (preferred).
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Experience with social media management and content creation.
Photography and video skills (preferred).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
Knowledge of legal communications is a plus.
