Associate Veterinarian
Southeast Animal Hospital is a one doctor practice with a legacy of over 30 years. We are privately owned and undergoing some changes. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our family. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animals, including cats, dogs, and pocket pets. This role requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Veterinarian will perform examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans and perform surgeries while ensuring the comfort and safety of both the animals and their owners.

Job Type: Full-time (open to discuss part-time)
Pay: $120,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
Schedule: 10 hour shift/4 days a week (half day on Saturday)
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
- Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as prescribed.
- Perform surgical procedures with a focus on aseptic technique and animal safety.
- Utilize veterinary critical care skills to manage emergency situations effectively.
- Handle animals with care during examinations and treatments, ensuring their comfort throughout the process.
- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology for documentation purposes.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high standards of patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical Doctor (VMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in the state of Texas.
- Experience or knowledge in veterinary critical care, animal surgery, dentistry, animal catheterization, and animal physiology.
- Strong skills in animal handling, including dog and cat handling.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- A commitment to providing compassionate care for all animals in your charge.
- Experience: Veterinary 1 year (Preferred but not Required)
- Language: Bilingual (Spanish Preferred but not required)
- License/Certification: Veterinary License (Required)
- Ability to Commute: San Antonio, TX 78210 (Required)
- Ability to Relocate: San Antonio, TX 78210 - Relocate before starting work (Required)
