National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS)
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid – must be local to DC area)
Schedule: Part-time, 15–20 hours/week | Duration: June–August 2025 | Paid Internship
Overview:
The National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS), a leading nonprofit organization advocating for quality cancer care for all, is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Events & Marketing Intern to support our summer initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit event planning, marketing, and advocacy communications.
Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning Support for NCCS’s two major summer events:
- Cancer Policy & Advocacy Team (CPAT) Symposium
- Igniting Hope Awards Reception
- Assist with logistical coordination, vendor communications, speaker materials, RSVPs, and planning meetings
- Provide on-site event support including registration, setup, and guest assistance
- Support post-event activities such as thank-you emails, photo collection, and gathering testimonials
- Create and schedule social media content related to NCCS summer events and campaigns
- Track media mentions and social engagement related to events
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in health advocacy, nonprofit work, and/or event planning
- Experience or coursework in marketing, communications, or public relations
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Must be local to Washington, DC and available for in-person support on event days
