Product Specialist
Position Summary:
Increase sales results through training sales associates within an assigned territory. This position requires extensive travel (80%) working with our sales representatives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Achieve in-depth understanding of products and effective sales approaches for assigned product lines
- Provides technical support and sales associate field, phone/e-mail, and classroom training
- Assist in the overall marketing of assigned product lines
- With the Product & Marketing Managers, identify the products and support materials required to train sales representatives and gain mindshare. This may require partnering in creating the materials and/or contests
- Supplement sales associate training to transfer product knowledge and sales skills to increase sales, ideally without substituting sales for other products in the sales group, once initial training has been conducted by the District Manager and/or Company
- Training may be one-on-one or in a group of sales reps
- Some customer calls in partnership with the sales rep may be required to demonstrate/transfer skills - Measure effectiveness through the product line sales results, and overall sales results, after each training session. Measure overall effectiveness for the product group
- Use established criteria to identify sales reps to work with, and managers who can support their development
- Understands and supports the Company’s quality systems
- Completes special projects, as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors degree – technical or scientific
- Hands on mechanical ability
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Microsoft Suite proficient
- 80% travel
