Operations Analytics Intern

Job Summary

 

This role will support the Operations Analytics - Process Integrity and Alignment group by documenting high-level and current-state (as-is) business processes related to the organization’s core products and services. This position will focus on creating BPMN-based process maps and organizing supporting documentation that accurately reflects how work is currently performed. The intern will work with business process owners and subject matter experts to ensure processes are well-documented, clearly visualized, and stored for accessibility and reuse.

What Success Looks Like

  • All assigned core product workflows are documented at a high level or in their current-state (as-is) format using BPMN.
  • Process documentation is accurate, consistent, and easy to follow, with supporting artifacts where applicable.
  • Documentation is stored in the appropriate repository with proper versioning and naming conventions.
  • Stakeholders validate that the captured processes accurately reflect real operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain as-is and high-level process maps using BPMN 2.0 standards, focusing on core operational workflows.
  • Conduct interviews, observation sessions, and data reviews to gather relevant process information.
  • Draft clear and concise supporting documentation (e.g., process descriptions, stakeholder roles, inputs/outputs).
  • Ensure consistency with internal documentation standards and contribute to the organization of the process repository.
  • Validate process documentation with SMEs and incorporate revisions as needed.
  • Support the team in identifying process gaps, inconsistencies, or missing steps.
  • Participate in process documentation reviews and team meetings to report progress and findings.

     

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Information Systems, or a related field required.
  • Foundational knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and process mapping concepts is required.
  • Experience with or exposure to tools like Lucidchart, Visio, Signavio, or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze workflows and distill complex information into simplified documentation.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively in a semi-structured environment.
