DESCRIPTION: This is a teaching position for Physical Education/Health Teacher 9-12 at Colstrip Public Schools.
We are seeking a certified and licensed Physical Education/Health teacher to join our high school faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting physical fitness, health education, and overall wellness among high school students. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to engage and motivate students, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging Physical Education and Health curriculum aligned with state standards and educational goals.
- Plan and conduct dynamic and inclusive physical education classes that promote physical fitness, skill development, and teamwork.
- Teach health education topics including nutrition, personal wellness, mental health, substance abuse prevention, and sexual health.
- Assess student learning through a variety of methods including tests, quizzes, projects, and physical skill demonstrations.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their academic and personal growth.
- Foster a safe and respectful classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education and health concepts across the curriculum.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in physical education and health education.
- Supervise and support extracurricular activities such as sports teams, fitness clubs, and health-related events.
A low deductible, low out-of-pocket comprehensive health plan is available. Salary base for the 202-2026 School Year is $43,746 (0 years experience) - $71,742 (MA20 with 10 years experience). Note: You may bring in up to 10 years experience.

CREDENTIALS: Must have or be eligible for a Montana Teaching License K-12 or P.E. 6-12. If you have a college physical education background, emergency authorization is a possibility.
