Real Estate Internship

Summary of Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinates activities related to the leasing and development of retail, restaurant and other non-hotel real estate for a large national real estate portfolio. 
  2. Updates and maintains accurate records including rent rolls, tenant rosters, CAM summaries, and lease summaries in shared databases. 
  3. Performs administrative tasks as required to support real estate transactions and operations.
  4. Tracks and analyzes operating expenses for retail centers and commercial assets.
  5. Assists with reviewing and processing various documents including lease agreements, contracts, site plans, construction drawings, environmental reports, and easements.
  6. Prepares marketing materials for commercial properties and conducts market research.
  7. Interfaces and maintains professional relationships with tenants, buyers, developers, and other real estate professionals.
  8. Partners with internal management, including Legal, Accounting, Operations, Construction, and assists in the preparation of deal summaries, lease abstracts, and financial analyses.

Personal Qualifications:

The ideal candidate would be an individual who displays strong critical thinking and analytical skills, along with excellent drive and attention to detail.  The candidate must be sensitive to the interpersonal aspects of the job, maintaining good working relationships both within and outside of the organization.

Minimum Experience and Skillset:

  1. Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program (rising junior or senior preferred). 
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas and formatting).
  3. Superior analytical and technical skills, including excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and time-management skills, and clear communication skills. 

Internship Details:

  1. Duration: Three (3) month summer internship.  Exact dates are flexible. 
  2. Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week).
  3. Compensation: Hourly rate. 
  4. Reporting Relationship: Reports to Real Estate and Development Manager.
  5. Format: In-person.
