MyBrownBox is looking for talented, culturally in-tune writers who are passionate about centering the voices and experiences of Black and Afro-Latina millennial and Gen Z women. If you love writing about the things that matter to our community — from beauty and culture to identity and joy — we want to hear from you.
 

✍🏾 About the Role:

As a Contributing Writer, you'll create original, authentic, and bold content that reflects the real-life conversations happening among Black and Afro-Latina women. You'll write essays, cultural commentary, and creative pieces that resonate.

🔥 What You’ll Do:

• Pitch and write stories that spotlight Black & Afro-Latina culture, voices, creativity and brilliance
   
• Cover a range of topics including beauty, fashion, culture, wellness, mental health, love, identity, college experience, lifestyle, and other trending issues
   
• Submit stories between 600–800 words
   
• Collaborate with editors to keep your tone fresh, personal, and relevant
   
• Help shape an uplifting and inspirational platform that centers and celebrates us — every single time.
   

🧠 You Are:

• Excited to kickstart your writing career with a reputable media platform, while growing as a storyteller and writer
   
• A strong writer with a clear voice and passion for storytelling
   
• Deeply familiar with issues that impact Black and Afro-Latina women in real time — socially, politically, and culturally
   
• A college student, recent grad, or creative ready to build your portfolio
   
• Someone who understands nuance, authenticity, and the power of speaking truth with care
   
• In tune with trends and conversations happening across social media; Think TikTok, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, and beyond
   

💸 Pay Structure:

• $100 per every 4 articles
   
• Payment is made within 14 days of accepted submission
