Extrusion Technologist
Job Description
Extrusion Technologist is primarily responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment. Operation includes start-up, production, changeover, shutdown, and preventative maintenance. Equipment may include but is not limited to lab and production scale single and twin screw extruders along with peripheral support equipment and injection molding machines. A positive attitude, curiosity, a mechanical/electrical inclination, and the ability to work in an environment with limited supervision is needed. As a start up, job responsibilities may vary substantially from day to day and it is critical that the candidate be able to problem solve and implement solutions related to equipment and/or new process design. Relevant polymer processing on-site training is provided.
Primary Responsibilities
- Follow instructions and operate equipment in accordance with our safe work practices.
- Perform manual tasks such as loading and supplying production line items and reworking and packaging products.
- Follow supervisor instructions for machine line operations
- Report to supervisor with mechanical or operational errors
- Able to work well with others
- Maintain a positive attitude and good attendance
- Responsible for keeping the work area clean and organized
- Perform quality assurance checks and testing compliance according to company and/or design facility standards.
- Provide general plant, production line, and facility clean up
Requirements
- Associate/Bachelors degree preferred.
- Focus on safe work practices and high quality while executing duties with a sense of urgency.
- Work efficiently self-directed or in a team environment.
- Physically able to be on your feet for 8 – 12 hours per day.
- Physically able to bend and squat at regular intervals.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening required
