About the Role
The Operations Coordinator is a foundational role that offers a unique opportunity to learn every aspect of our composting operations. This person will take on a mix of responsibilities including compost collections, site work, deliveries, and special projects. Over time, the goal is to develop this individual into a leadership role—helping supervise operations and improve workflow across the team.
This job is perfect for someone who is passionate about sustainability, thrives in a physically active and outdoor environment, and wants to be part of building something meaningful.
What You'll Be Doing

Compost Pickups (40%) – Driving collection routes and picking up food scraps from customers.

Deliveries (20%) – Delivering finished compost and other products.

Site Work & Projects (40%) – Working hands-on at the compost site, helping with processing, maintenance, and operational improvements.
- Supporting team members and covering routes when others are out.
- Pitching in on equipment checks and preventative maintenance.
- Managing multiple ongoing tasks and small projects.
- Communicating with the team and customers in person, by phone, and over email.
- Collaborating with owners and team members to plan and improve operations.
What We're Looking For
- Recent college graduates with a strong interest in sustainability, agriculture, environmental science, business or a related field.
- Excited to work with food scraps and compost in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently without supervision.
- Strong time management and project coordination skills.
- Effective communicator with a can-do attitude and team spirit.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment maintenance.
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a drug screening and periodic testing.
- Access to reliable transportation to/from worksite.
Bonus Skills (but not required)
- Previous experience in composting, landscaping, farming, or similar hands-on work.
- Familiarity with basic mechanical repair or tools.
