Position Overview

This is a paid, on-site internship located at our store in Staten Island, NY. This position is ideal for someone passionate about saltwater aquariums and eager to learn coral farming at scale. You’ll be immersed in day-to-day operations, gain firsthand experience with advanced equipment, and contribute to our growing operation.

Key Expectations

Since this is an internship, you are expected to learn the skills listed if not already possessed.

  • Maintain coral health and support daily operations on the floor.
  • Fragging, pest management, and inventory tracking
  • Learn and maintain advanced reefing equipment, such as calcium reactor, Apex controller programming, Hydros configuration, lighting troubleshooting, and plumbing
  • Learn about coral diseases and how to treat them
  • Develop a good eye for desirable strains, maintain a constant pulse on what's hot in the hobby and get active in the community. Stay current with the latest gadget in the hobby in order to inform customers on why they should or should not use it.
  • Learn about and provide support to shipping corals on par with our less than 0.01% DOA rate.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong interest in the reefing hobby.
  • Excellent organizational skills: capable of prioritizing, solving problems, and following instructions
  • Independent and comfortable working in a team.
  • Good sense of interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • A bachelor's degree is not required, but must be willing to learn and be a part of the team.
  • Professionalism and maturity are a must. Ego is not welcome here and a good vibe and attitude is championed.
  • Resourcefulness - while we will give you all the support you need, we also expect you to have a "figure it out and get it done" mentality.

Hours and Pay

Part-time to full-time. $11-$20/hr with a 3-month trial period.
