Associate Editor

Job Summary: Responsible for creating content within the magazine's print and digital platforms that educates, engages and provides value to the magazine’s audience. Supports the editorial direction and goals of the magazine. Develop and implement social media strategy/outreach in line with editorial goals.
Major Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and create credible content through the writing/editing of product releases, writing/editing of press releases, writing/editing of news editorial stories, the writing/editing of feature articles and exploring potential for editorially driven video content.
- Create one (1) to three (3) long-form articles (more than 1,000 words) for each of the magazine's six (6) print issues per year.
- Create as needed short, news editorial articles (less than 500 words) for the magazine's website.
- Create as needed short video interviews (10 min or less).
- Gathers, edits and re-writes press releases to be published on magazine's website as part of daily breaking news activities.
- Edits/proofreads feature articles written by outside authors and the Editor in Chief that will appear in the print issue and on the magazine's website; this is to ensure accuracy, readability and that the content aligns with AP Style.

Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office platforms (Word; Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign; InCopy, Acrobat)
- Familiarity with Photoshop a plus
- Familiarity with Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and other web-based collaborative platforms (Sprout Social; Slack)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, Communications or English a plus
- Previous B2B publishing experience a plus
Special Job Dimensions:
- This is a full-time position with flexibility of working in the office or remotely. Position may require longer hours and travel could be between 15-20% of the time.
