ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR/ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Position Title: Assistant Administrator/Assistant Principal
Reports to: Superintendent
Position Duty Days/Contract: 239 Days (including 12 paid holidays)
2025-2026 Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000

1. Ensure that there is a safe student learning environment
2. Supervise and manage both licensed and non-licensed staff members
3. Lead efforts for instructional leadership
4. Promote WLA through a variety of marketing efforts
5. Manage WLA operations
_______________SECTION III: QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS_______
● Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) - required
● Strong computer skills – required
● Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking skills -required
● Must work well with other school personnel, as well as the public - required
● Must have ability to maintain confidentiality and to work efficiently and accurately under
pressure - required
● Experience with diverse groups of learners - Preferred
● Experience with high academic performing students – Preferred
● 4 Year College Degree - Required
● Advanced Degree –Preferred
● Administrative license – Preferred
● Experience as a classroom teacher Preferred
● Experience with teacher leadership -Preferred
_________________SECTION IV: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ___________________________
1. Ensure that there is a safe student learning environment
a. Supervise student movement, serve as the student discipline manager, counsel students
regarding school behavioral issues, call parents and process suspensions
b. Assist with managing programs/efforts such as anti-bullying, expected bus behavior,
Core Virtue lessons, and implementation of the Responsive Classroom
c. Serve as a leader on the Crisis Management Team
2. Supervise and manage both licensed and non-licensed staff members
a. Create building schedules
b. Supervise staff members
c. Conduct staff performance observations
d. Evaluate staff member performance
3. Lead efforts for instructional leadership
a. Oversee assessment reports on student data, and analyze data to steer professional
development and professional learning community efforts. Ensure compliance for all
MDE reports requiring student data analysis. Assist Executive Director as needed with
student academic achievement goals.
b. Oversee programs/efforts and coach staff members as requested by the Executive
Director to assist with mentoring and building capacity with staff members in these
areas
c. Support PLCs by coaching and supporting staff members with data driven decision
making.
4. Promote WLA through a variety of marketing efforts
a. Assist to prepare marketing materials, attend marketing events, and reach out to
community stakeholders to market all WLA programs
b. Ensure that the WLA website is continually updated and that teacher websites are
current
5. Manage WLA operations
a. Ensure that operations are running smoothly including the areas of:
i. Custodial
ii. Building and grounds
iii. Storage of building materials
iv. Lunch resources
v. Technology
vi. Purchasing procedures
vii. Office management
6. Other Duties as Assigned
