Chemical Technician

Assist engineers in setting up and conducting R&D development experiments and tests.  Collect, prepare and characterize specimens.

This position supports the development of sorbents for purification of aqueous solutions to be used in a medical device application.  Main duties include preparation and characterization of new sorbent materials and assembly and characterization of functional device sub-components.  

• Majority of time spent in laboratory preparing and testing sorbent materials and functional sorbent sub-components
• Pack sorbent columns and perform flow/pressure/chemistry testing of solutions
• Preparation of aqueous solutions, using standard laboratory equipment and techniques to handle solutions and perform routine measurements; perfrom routine equipment calibrations as required
• Set-up and operate testing equipment including data acquisition software
• Collect and prepare samples for analysis; perfrom sample analyses using established procedures
• Document findings and present to supervisor or other team members for review

BA/BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent (2+ years of schooling completed)

1+ years of experience working in chemistry labs

Ideally work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year
