PARALEGAL JOB DUTIES
FLUENCY IN SPANISH REQUIRED
Coverage
- Daily coverage is required while the office is open.
- The firm requires two full-time paralegals.
New Files
- File Motions
- Calendar Court Dates
- Acquire all necessary case information.
- Communicate with clients: Texts, phone calls, photos of attorney as needed.
- File continuances as needed, including follow-up and filing signed orders.
- Constant communication with attorneys and clients is expected.
Calendar
- Update calendar with client court dates.
- Check on PFDs and cross reference with AOC to make sure they are not already in circuit.
- Anticipate next steps.
- Identify which attorney will go to each court.
- Constant communication with attorneys and receptionist.
- Always look ahead for scheduling concerns and trouble shoot an action plan.
Practice Panther
- Task for court date and location
- Task for follow-ups
- Task for attorney questions as needed.
- Complete tasks assigned to you or your team by the due date, late tasks will be addressed with manager.
- Late tasks that are finished but not “completed will be addressed with manager.
Relationships with Courts
- Build and maintain good relationships with Court Clerks.
- Maintain current contact list.
Discovery
- Receive, save and distribute discovery.
- Create Task in Practice Panther.
Client Assistance (Outside the scope of original contract)
- Alcohol classes
- Anger Mgmt classes
- Parenting classes
- Driver Control
- Paying court fees/fines
- Disposition Sheets
- Invoice time as needed for all these services.
Expungements
- All paralegals will handle Expungements
- Existing clients
- New clients within the yellow counties (Pulaski, Saline, Lonoke, Faulkner)
- New final paperwork form as of May 2024
ACIC
- All paralegals will handle ACIC
Assist Attorneys
- Schedule Jail Visits
- Interpreting
- Client Calls
