Company Description
Westates Construction Company is part of a vertically integrated real estate investment firm. We are a home builder (J Thomas Homes), investment fund, developer (primarily multifamily), construction company, property management company, and we have our own cabinet, flooring, and countertop businesses. Our primary focus is to grow wealth for owners, investors, and employees, which we do primarily through land acquisition and development.
Role Description
We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to oversee several functions of the business. The CFO will be responsible for financial planning, overseeing the accounting team and its preparation of financial statements, financial reporting, insurance, working with outside attorneys, and assisting other company leaders with operational efficiency, risk control, strategy, etc.
Our ideal candidate has a JD MBA or JD MAcc with 4-7 years' experience post-graduation. We don't expect or need someone who knows everything you need to know to be a CFO. We would rather have someone who is smart, can think creatively, is hardworking, and has sufficient experience to be useful, and is ready to learn the unique way we work and put deals together.
Qualifications
- JD MBA or JD MAcc with 4-7 years' experience post-graduation
- Experience in accounting and/or law
- Strong analytical skills
- Desire to learn and grow
- Interest in real estate
