Billing and Settlement Specialist

Job Description/Purpose:

 

 The Billing and Settlement Specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely invoices to the company’s various customers, as well as on-time payments to carriers. They will perform a variety of administrative, data entry, and financial task to support the company’s objectives. 

Responsibilities:

 

• Generate customer invoices based off specific criteria accurately and in a timely manner 

• Verify that transactions and documents comply with financial policies and procedures established by the company 

• Review billing data for accuracy 

• Prepare customer invoices for mailing, emailing, and/or customer system entry 

• Communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries 

• Work with customer assigned systems for payment processing 

• Receive and review carrier invoices for services provided 

• Accurately enter carrier invoice information into the accounting system 

• Communicate with carriers regarding payment issues 

• Generate and distribute carrier statements 

• Prepare carrier checks for mailing 

• Generate daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports as assigned. 

• Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all financial transactions 

• Assist in resolving issues related to billing and settlements 

• Communicate with internal teams to gather required billing and carrier settlement information 

• Verify coding and obtain signatures for specific forms and records 

• Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor 

• Uphold professionalism and courteous behavior when interacting with customers, carriers, and associates

Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

 

• High school diploma or GED required 

• Associate degree in accounting or related field 

• Logistics industry experience 

• Accounting software experience 

• Computer literacy and proficient in Microsoft 365 

• Strong attention to details 

• Self-motivated and ability to work independently 

• Possess time management and organizational skills
