Marketing & Communications Specialist

Job Title: Marketing & Communications Specialist 

Location: St. Cloud, MN 

Employment Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt 

Department: Advancement Team 

Reports To: Advancement Director 

About Us: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central MN (BBBS) is dedicated to creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the biggest possible futures for youth. We are looking for a dynamic Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our team and help us advance our mission throughout Central MN. 

Position Overview: The Marketing & Communications Specialist will lead the strategy and activities to promote BBBS's brand, drive community involvement, and support our mission. This role focuses on external communications, volunteer recruitment, donor cultivation, and special events. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for making a difference. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Brand Management: Maintain and enhance the agency’s brand and messaging in line with BBBS of America guidelines. 

External Communications: Develop and disseminate communications such as email newsletters, donor assets, marketing collateral, press releases, and the annual report. 

Marketing Campaigns: Design and execute targeted campaigns for volunteer recruitment, special events, and corporate sponsorships. 

Website Management: Ensure the agency’s website is up-to-date and consistent with branding. 

Social Media Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to increase visibility and engagement on social media platforms. 

Event Coordination: Coordinate the annual online silent auction and raffle ticket sale, managing event logistics. 

Media and Vendor Relations: Cultivate relationships with media partners, contractors, and vendors, negotiating costs and services. 

Committee Leadership: Lead the Marketing Committee, facilitating meetings and collaboration. 

Budget Management: Assist in developing and tracking budgets, including financial reporting. 

Promotional Items Management: Manage promotional items and the BBBS online storefront. 

Presentations: Deliver presentations to promote the agency’s mission and initiatives. 

Intern Supervision: Supervise interns, providing guidance and support. 

Qualifications: 

Education: Associate degree or higher in a related field to Marketing and Communications. 

Experience: Candidates should have 1-2 years of related work experience. 

Skills: 

Strategic thinking and business acumen 

Strong written, social media, and in-person communication skills 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, WordPress, and social media platforms 

Proficiency in Adobe Suite 

Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to shifting priorities 

Access to transportation and a valid driver’s license

Work Environment:  

Routine office environment with flexible working hours to meet agency needs. Event duties as necessary. 

Hours: 32-40 Hours per Week with occasional evenings. 

Starting Pay: $23.00-$24 Per Hour, Non-Exempt
