Logistics Specialist

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Logistics Specialist

 

REPORTS TO: OPERATIONS MANAGER

LOCATION: Omaha, NE office

JOB TYPE: Full Time, Non-exempt, in person

 

POSITION PURPOSE

 

Position Purpose

 

The Logistics Specialist assists the Customer Account Executive and Account Manager with administrative and clerical tasks related to scheduling and logistics. This role will work closely with clients, carriers, and vendors to support all of their logistical needs while establishing strong relationships with customers and teammates

 

Essential Functions

  • Provide general logistics operation support for all areas as needed
  • Communicates extensively with internal customers, providing accurate and timely information on inventory needs
  • Verifies shipments and details on individual loads
  • Inputs load information, verifies load numbers, phone numbers, load & unload hours, physical shipping and receiving addressed and other clerical functions
  • Maintains record keeping systems and updates load information, dates, and revisions
  • Validates shipment, receipt, and invoices for all product received and shipped
  • Performs track and trace functions to ensure on-time deliveries to customers
  • Diagnoses, assesses and resolves load related issues
  • Peroforms other general office duties such as data entry and filing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

 

Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience

  • Ability to speak effectively and communicate clearly

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
