Laboratory Technician in MicrobiologyÂ
Position Overview
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician with microbiological knowledge to join our team. The ideal candidate will have entry-level technical skills in various microbiological duties, including plate count assays, culture maintenance, media preparation, PCR, and aseptic technique.
Experience with the above is not required, but candidates must be willing to learn. Attention to detail is highly valued.
Responsibilities
Microbiological Assays
- Perform CFU assays / bacterial plate count enumeration assays
- Perform streak plating
- Monitor and maintain appropriate incubator temperatures and conditions
- Evaluate microbial morphology and characteristics
Culture Management
- Execute proper inoculation techniques
- Perform bacterial and fungal scale-up in vessels with aseptic technique
- Conduct various plating and streaking methods for both bacterial and fungal samples
Media Preparation
- Formulate and prepare various media, including TSA and SDA
Molecular Analysis
- Willness to learn to perform PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction)
- Analyze PCR data and generate detailed reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related field preferred
- Previous laboratory experience in microbiology is preferred
- Strong aseptic technique and attention to detail
- Experience with biological techniques
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay: $32,000.00 through 38,000 per year
