Assistant General Manager

Your Role: Assistant General Manager
You’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the swim school, making sure everything runs safely, smoothly, and up to Goldfish standards. You’ll lead staff, support families, and keep the facility operating at a high level while fostering a fun and positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily school operations according to Goldfish Swim School’s Standard Operating Procedures
  • Support the General Manager and department managers with class scheduling, student progress tracking, and customer service
  • Lead and manage the team to ensure high performance, team morale, and exceptional service
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and mentoring new staff
  • Maintain a high standard of swim instruction and staff preparedness
  • Plan and lead staff events and employee engagement activities
  • Support sales and marketing initiatives
  • Help manage retail and vending areas, including inventory and pricing decisions
  • Troubleshoot and maintain pool operations, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are met
  • Train and implement emergency procedures and oversee the Emergency Action Plan
  • Maintain current certifications and stay up to date on industry best practices

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.  Bachelors degree or higher preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a management/supervisory position required.
  • Experience as either a certified lifeguard, swim instructor, youth sports coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider required
  • Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certifications or willingness to obtain required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required.
