
Shipping Coordinator
The Shipping Coordinator is responsible for managing outbound shipments, processing routing instructions, and delivering outstanding service to customers and carriers. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate shipping execution, on-time deliveries, and compliance with client routing guides in a fast-paced 3PL warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process outbound shipping orders and routing requests from clients.
- Schedule freight pickups and coordinate with carriers based on client-specific routing guidelines.
- Communicate daily with clients, carriers, and warehouse teams.
- Generate bills of lading (BOL), packing lists, shipping labels, and other required documents.
- Maintain current and accurate records of shipments, routing confirmations, and communications.
- Ensure all outbound shipments meet client specifications, labeling requirements, and deadlines.
- Use the Warehouse Management System to enter and update shipping and tracking information.
- Resolve customer concerns related to shipping errors, missed pickups, and freight issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure a smooth hand off of outbound freight.
- Maintain a highly organized work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in logistics or business is a plus.
- 1–3 years of experience in a customer service or routing/shipping role within a logistics, distribution, or 3PL environment is preferred.
- Experience with WMS or inventory systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Manhattan, etc.).
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and stay detail-oriented in a high-volume setting.
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
