Status: Seasonal, Part-Time Reports to: Marketing Coordinator
Location: This internship is primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings or event coverage at the Hi-Pointe Theatre or other venues.
Time Commitment: Approximately 10-12 hours per week, with flexible scheduling.
Stipend: $250 per month.
Cinema St. Louis (CSL), a nonprofit arts organization that operates the historic Hi-Pointe Theatre and produces annual film festivals and education programs, is seeking a creative and motivated college student for a Social Media Engagement & Outreach Internship. This paid internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, community outreach, and nonprofit arts administration while contributing to the promotion of film, culture, and education in St. Louis.
Responsibilities
The Social Media Engagement & Outreach Intern will assist the Marketing and Outreach team with:
- Content Creation: Draft, schedule, and post across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Letterboxd) to promote CSL events, programs, and initiatives. Create engaging graphics, reels, and stories.
- Audience Engagement: Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries. Monitor hashtags and mentions to foster interaction.
- Campaign Support: Assist in promoting the St. Louis International Film Festival, educational programs, and Hi-Pointe Theatre events. Collaborate on strategies to boost ticket sales and attendance.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track social media metrics and suggest improvements.
- Community Outreach: Research and connect with local influencers, groups, and organizations to amplify CSL initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Education: Enrolled in a college program, preferably in marketing, communications, film, media studies, or related field.
- Skills: Familiar with social media platforms, content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), and strong communication skills.
- Passion: Interest in independent film and the arts.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently and collaboratively.
- Availability: Flexibility for occasional evening or weekend events.
