Accounting Intern
Position Summary:
The Accounting Intern is primarily responsible for assisting with providing accounting duties as assigned by the Director of Accounting or their delegate in accordance with prescribed accounting procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Processing of daily bank deposits.
· Assist in the Preparation and posting of daily cash receipts.
· Assist in the preparation of bank reconciliations under the supervision of the Director of Accounting or their delegate.
· Organize and electronically file disbursement documentation in preparation for billing.
· Assist with the reconciliation of monthly credit card payments.
· Entering reimbursable costs into the system.
· Assist with attorney requests.
· Assist with client requests.
· Comfort in reaching out to clients by phone and over email to clarify missing information for cash receipts posting.
· Assistance with A/P processing and filing when requested.
· Assistance with the research of un-cashed checks
· Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Team.
Experience & Qualifications
· In the process of completing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related fields with the desire to work as an accountant in a professional services environment.
Skills and Abilities
· Proficient use of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
· Moderate Excel skills, such as formulas, VLOOKUP’s, and pivot tables. Macros are a plus.
· Ability and desire to learn accounting software, Aderant Expert, quickly.
· Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.
· Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and relationships with minimal supervision.
· Ability to meet deadlines.
· High attention to detail.
· Utilize problem-solving skills.
· Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
· Ability to commit to 20 hours per week in person in the Westwood office.
Hourly rate: $18.00
The internship starts immediately.
Reliable transportation is required.
