Digital Intern
DIGITAL INTERN
Born This Way Foundation is seeking a digital intern to assist in the Foundation’s online communications efforts. This role includes supporting content creation, graphic design, social media copywriting, and video editing to help amplify the Foundation’s message across digital platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about mental health advocacy and eager to gain hands-on experience in digital media, social media strategy, and creative content production!
Please note: All candidates for this internship must be a current student and will be required to sign an agreement stating they are completing the internship for educational benefit.

Born This Way Foundation, co-founded and led by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Bissett Germanotta, empowers and inspires young people to build a kinder, braver world that supports their mental health and wellbeing. Role + Responsibilities
- Support Digital Content Creation: Assist in the creation of social media graphics, videos, and written content to support the promotion of Born This Way Foundation initiatives and events across digital platforms.
- Develop Copy for Social Media and Campaign: Support the creation of engaging copy for social media posts, digital campaigns, and website content, ensuring alignment with the Foundation's voice and message.
- Monitor and Report on Digital Impact: Track and document the performance of digital content, including social media posts and videos, and help analyze insights to improve future campaigns.
- Vet Partners, Organizations, and Influencers: Assist in researching and vetting potential partners, organizations, and influencers to ensure their values and mission align with Born This Way Foundation’s commitment to mental health advocacy, kindness, and inclusivity. This includes reviewing past work, social media presence, and public statements to ensure they are in line with the Foundation's goals.
- Identify Social Media Trends and Develop Engagement Strategies: Monitor current social media trends and identify opportunities to creatively engage young people with Born This Way Foundation’s work online. This includes brainstorming new ways to use trending topics, hashtags, and formats to reach and connect with a youth audience, while promoting mental health awareness and inclusivity.
- Collaborate with Youth Advisory Board on Digital Campaigns: Work closely with the Foundation’s Youth Advisory Board to develop and execute digital-first campaigns and projects. This includes brainstorming ideas, creating content, and ensuring campaigns reflect the voices and perspectives of young people while advancing the Foundation’s mission.
Required Skills
- Digital Content Creation: Proficiency in creating engaging digital content, including social media posts, graphics, videos, and copy for digital campaigns. Familiarity with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) is a plus.
- Social Media Strategy and Trend Awareness: Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, Bluesky, etc.) and current trends. Ability to identify relevant trends and creatively apply them to engage youth audiences and promote the Foundation’s initiatives.
- Research and Analytical Skills: Ability to research, gather, and analyze information from digital platforms, including monitoring social media performance and identifying potential partners, influencers, and trends.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to extract and use impactful quotes from key stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail and Organization: High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to maintain databases, contact sheets, and digital files efficiently.
- Relevant Coursework: Coursework in Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Social Media Strategy, or related fields is preferred. Practical experience in social media management, video editing, and content creation is a plus.
