Marketing & Communications Associate

MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE

The Marketing and Communications Associate serves as part of the marketing and communications team, supporting other departments throughout the school. They manage all organic communication, effectively informing and promoting the school, its brand, its people, and its mission. The Marketing and Communications Associate must be creative, well-versed in photo and video production, digitally savvy, organized, an excellent writer and editor, and willing to learn. This full-time or part-time position reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Photography
    1. Assist with photographing classroom activities and lectures, student life, and athletics
    2. Shoot events as necessary (Auction Gala, Arts Concerts, etc.)
    3. Edit pictures to match the established aesthetic in a timely manner
  2. Videography
    1. Ability to plan, shoot, and edit compelling videos for social media and special projects
    2. Film b-roll throughout the year
    3. Research and manage production equipment, including lights, microphones, cameras, and camera accessories
  3. Social Media Management
    1. Use Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to post compelling and consistent content that fits into the larger marketing strategy
    2.  Analyze social media and report on it

Additional responsibilities will likely include:

  1. Communications
    1. Draft and disseminate emails from The Covenant School to any constituency, including current families, potential families, alumni, donors and employees
  2. Website Management
    1. Update the website as needed
    2. Basic understanding of front-end development is a plus, but not required
  3. Writing and Editing
    1. Identify stories to be highlighted on the website and via other media
  4. Graphic Design
    1. Implement the principles of graphic design to create marketing-related materials for internal clients
    2. Assist in the development of  new brand assets and guidelines for special projects
  5. Work with the operations team and other departments to establish, streamline, and implement Communication and Brand Guidelines

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commitment to the Christian faith and seeking spiritual maturity
  • Willingness to sign and abide by the school’s Statement of Principles, central to the core values of the Institution
  • Dedicated member of a Christian community
  • Ability to articulate Covenant’s Christian mission personally and persuasively
  • Exceptional photo and video skills with a strong grasp of visual storytelling, editing tools, and techniques
  • Experience in the use of social media and strategic management of various mediums
  • Written and verbal communication skills; ability to edit for grammar and syntax
  • Strong organization skills and keen attention to detail
  • Time management and self-accountability with deadline-driven work
  • Comfortable working with a team
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school colleagues and constituents in a manner that reflects the mission and values of the school
  • Willingness and ability to learn new programs and processes
  • Realistic sense of self and talents
