Marketing Intern (Summer 2025) – ServiceMaster Simons – North Shore

ServiceMaster Simons – North Shore, a leading family and women-owned disaster restoration firm serving the North Shore and greater Chicago area, is seeking a creative, motivated Marketing Intern for a summer internship. This is an exciting opportunity to gain real-world experience supporting a mission-driven business with a strong community reputation.

What You’ll Do:

As our Marketing Intern, you’ll work directly with our marketing and operations team to help build customer relationships and boost our digital presence. Your work will directly impact our brand visibility and client engagement. Key responsibilities include:

  • ✍️Repurposing content: Turn existing blogs, case studies, and web pages into bite-sized, engaging social media posts, email blurbs, and direct mailers.
  • 📣Social Media Management: Help plan and post regular content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google Business Profile.
  • 📬Email & Newsletter Marketing: Assist with writing and sending monthly newsletters and automated customer emails using platforms like Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
  • 💬Direct Customer Touchpoints: Help shape messaging that connects with homeowners, property managers, and insurance professionals.
  • 📨Direct Mail Campaigns: Support the design and distribution of targeted direct mail pieces to key North Shore communities.
  • 🧠Content Calendar Support: Collaborate to plan out seasonal campaigns and promotional pushes.

Ideal Candidate:

We’re looking for someone who’s curious, detail-oriented, and ready to get hands-on.

  • Currently enrolled in a marketing, communications, journalism, or related program (associates, undergrad or recent grad)
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Social media savvy — knows how to adapt tone across platforms
  • Familiarity with Constant Contact, Canva, Mailchimp, and/or WordPress is a plus
  • Organized, motivated, and comfortable working independently or in a small team
