Associate Commercial Strategy and Planning Manager

SUMMARY / JOB PURPOSE: 

With Exelixis’ continued growth and extensive, fast moving pipeline, the need has been identified to recruit an Associate Commercial Strategy and Planning (CSP) Manager (New Product Planning (NPP)). The position will report to the Senior Director/Director of CSP, New Product Planning. This position will be accountable for providing a commercial perspective to inform success and differentiation for Biotherapeutics Development Candidates over 10-12 weeks starting on June 9th, 2025 and will be based in Alameda, CA. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primarily responsible for Pipeline commercial strategy and analysis, including:
    • Identify key business questions to help inform the value proposition for the Development Candidate nomination
    • Highlight strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats from a commercial perspective and share findings in a clear, concise manner
    • Provide high level commercial market sizing for potential indications to help inform addressable patient population
    • Review clinical data for competitor assets and assess competitive positioning and commercial implications 
    • Partner with Discovery/Development to develop Molecule Target Product Profile(s) (TPPs) for programs of interest
  • Work cross-functionally with Commercial, Clinical Development, Translational Medicine, and Discovery functions to generate holistic recommendations
  • Determine the appropriate analyses required to answer key business questions and generate data driven recommendations based on analyses

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities at this time 

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: 

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelors degree required 
  2. Enrolled in and/or pursuing a Masters/PhD level program
  3. Preference for individuals interested in Life Sciences, Oncology, or Science-related discipline
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  5. Enthusiasm for working collaboratively in a dynamic, team-based environment
  6. Highly analytical approach to solving complex problems 
  7. Excellent organizational and project management skills
