Community Engagement VISTA (entry level)
Serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA with United Way of the Piedmont! As a Community Engagement VISTA, you will be responsible for building the capacity of a local nonprofit organization to provide health, education, and economic mobility services through the following activities: community engagement, social media, marketing and/or other capacity-building activities.
Responsibilities may include:
- Community engagement
- Event coordination
- Social media, marketing, and communications
- Volunteer recruitment and management
- Fundraising and grant writing

Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older (no upper age limit)
- Hold one of the following citizenship or legal residency statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card status), and persons legally residing within a state.
All VISTA Members in SC receive these benefits:
- $750 Settling In allowance and government rate mileage reimbursement for those moving more than 50 miles to serve
- Education Award to be used toward student loans or further education ($7,395 upon completion of service) OR an end-of-service cash stipend ($1,800)
- Health benefit (not full coverage) of up to $8,550 to cover out-of-pocket healthcare costs and health allowance if already covered by insurance
- Childcare vouchers (if applicable, for children under 13 yrs)
- Reduction of education costs
- 10 paid sick days
- 10 paid vacation / personal leave days
